What else is this food? Yutuk, the Hippoidea

Yutuk
This time I will review unique foods that come from the sea. Yesterday, I reviewed sea cucumber crackers. This time I will tell you about my experience with the hippoidea or what is called yutuk (local language).

At first glance it looks like a flea. It has an oval body, a fairly hard shell and many legs. Maybe you think this is not food, it is poisonous. However, some people in coastal areas may have tasted this marine animal. This is my first time eating it myself. Even though I myself have lived in coastal areas for quite a long time, I have never eaten it at all. Surprisingly, I also just learned about the shape of this sea animal.

For the sake of this article, I am willing to try this unique sea animal and tell you how it tastes. I myself am a little less interested in this dish. However, my curiosity far exceeded my interest in a seafood dish called undur-undur seafood (hippoidea).

After I ordered it a few days ago, the package containing the hippoidea arrived at my house. My children enthusiastically opened the package containing these hippoidea. I ordered two packs. One pack of yutuk with seaweed flavored sprinkles with one sachet of chili sauce, and one pack of balado flavor and chili sauce.

After opening the package of hippoidea, the smell of this food is almost similar to shrimp. Just like the smell of fried shrimp. I started eating it, and sure enough, the taste was not far from shrimp. Sometimes the taste of crab is also present in the taste of the hippoidea. This food has been cooked by the seller, so you don't need to worry about processing it. This hippoidea seller has fried it before packaging it. The possibility of additional spices also complements the taste of the hippoidea. The seller's advice is that you have to fry it again first so that it tastes better, crispy and delicious.

First we tried the seaweed-flavored fried hippoidea (seaweed seasoning). The taste of the sprinkles is standard. The fried hippoidea are quite good. As I said, this food is almost similar in taste to shrimp and crab (or a combination of the flavors of those marine animals).

Yutuk

A few days later, we also tasted the taste of hippoidea with balado sprinkles. Before eating it, we fried it first, according to the seller's advice. Don't fry this food for too long, just warm it as it should. After we poured it into plates, the smell of this food was more pronounced, more flavorful. When we ate it, it tasted much better! Yes, it's much better when it's fried again. It tastes crispy (not a bit tough like the first time we tasted it without frying it first). The seller's advice was spot on. I rate this food 9.5, quite delicious, right? Previously, I only gave it a rating of 6.5 because it tasted a little soft (before frying it again).

If you love seafood, this food is right for you. The taste is almost similar to crab and shrimp. The difference is, the meat doesn't really taste, just an appetizing crunchy sensation.

OK, that's my review of Yutuk or hippoidea. I hope my writing is useful, thank you for reading and visiting our blog. Have a nice day !
