The facts behind Princess Beatrice's wedding gown

The facts behind Princess Beatrice's wedding gown

United Kingdom recently held a switch ceremony to celebrate the marriage of the Queen's granddaughter, Princess Beatrice (Friday, July 20, 2020). The wedding was actually planned for May. But when the Covid-19 outbreak also hit the country, it was finally postponed in July 2020. Princess Beatrice was Prince Andrew's (Duke of York) first child from her marriage to Sarah Ferguson. The wedding ceremony that was held privately features some very charming photos that can be seen by the public.

Some photos released are the couple or the bride and groom posing at The Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor. They seemed to smile happily at each other. On another occasion, they also took pictures with the two grandparents Princess Beatrice, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

They (Queen Elizabeth and Duke of Edinburgh) seemed happy to see the marriage of her granddaughter.

There is something interesting behind the princess's wedding dress. The dress can be said to be historic, and of course also with the tow. Let's look at:

1. The dress worn by Princess Beatrice is a vintage Peau De Soie taffeta gown, in ivory shades by Norman Hartnell, loaned from the Queen, and trimmed with noble satin and inlaid with diamante. The dress was worn by the queen while attending the film premiere of Lawrence of Arabia in London in 1962.

2. The dress was not a 100% original dress, but was redesigned by Angela Kelly and Stewart Parvin (designer).

3. The tiara worn by the bride is the Tiara Queen Mary, who was loaned by her grandmother. This tiara is the tiara worn by Queen Elizabeth when she married Prince Philip in 1947.

4. The addition of a dress modification is on the organza puff sleeve. The puff sleeve is very similar to her mother's wedding dress, Sarah Ferguson, when she married her father (Prince Andrew) in 1986.

5. The tiara is a Queen Victoria necklace that was made in 1919 and modified into a tiara.

6. According to one royal resource person, the tiara is the most sentimental tiara. In a sense, this tiara is deliberately kept by the queen to be worn back by her granddaughter if one day she will get married. The granddaughter is Beatrice. Because they are close to each other.
